Simpsonville Fire Station 6 ribbon-cutting held

Simpsonville, S.C. — The City of Simpsonville held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Fire Station 6 on May 28 with both city and county representatives in attendance.

City, county council members attend ceremony

Greenville County Council members Lynn Ballard and Butch Kirven joined Simpsonville City Council members Lou Hutchings, Sherry Roche and Mayor Paul Shewmaker at 1401 Jonesville Road for the ceremony. Also in attendance were general contractor Cloverleaf Group, Simpsonville City Administrator Dianna Gracely, Steward-Cooper-Newell Architects and the Hughes family, who sold the land to the City before construction.

Kirven, Shewmaker and Simpsonville Fire Department Chief Wesley Williams all made remarks at the ceremony, which featured the ribbon cutting and raising of the flag followed by a tour of the station.
Firefighters moved into Station 6 a couple of days prior to the ribbon cutting.■
