Street Survival Tactics

Rick “Pirate Hunter” Grover

Greetings Street Survivors. As we close out 2019 there is much to reflect on during this past year, but I would like to focus on just two recent events.  The deadly attacks this week on both a Christian church and a Jewish Home Service, strongly emphasis our basic foundational belief, that preparation is key to survival, and underscores the fact that evil does exist, and it can rear its ugly head anywhere at any time.  It also shows that evil people will use any tool available to them, from firearms to machetes, poison to pickup trucks to injure or kill the innocent citizens among us. Therefore, we train, so we can be better positioned and prepared to not only meet that evil head on, but to succeed in defeating it, and saving lives. I encourage you to redouble your efforts as we kickstart 2020, and commit to learning new skills, and knocking the rust off the old ones.

As previously promised, I’m beginning a new series to help you define and reach your personal protection goals. I’ll be highlighting a few different businesses and training operations that can assist you and your family in making 2020 even safer than ever before.

The first company I’d like to present to you is Jerry’s Place at Lake Bowen, 8629 Hwy 9 in Inman, SC. Jerry and Stefanie the married owners, focus their operation on guns, knives, tools and ammo with an emphasis on hunting and fishing supplies. They buy, sell, take trades and can sell guns and archery equipment on consignment. The phone number is: 864-256-6215 and you can email them at: JerrysPlace@lakebowen.com.  Besides the many weapons and tools they offer in their store, they also specialize in Concealed Weapons Permit classes. They are certified as NRA and SLED instructors, and started teaching back in 2012, to help educate beginning shooters, and to correct some incorrect habits of experienced gun owners. Their knowledge and experience are so impressive that Cabela’s and Bass Pro hired them to teach their in-store CWP classes for a couple of years in the Lake Wylie area. Over the years, they’ve also offered gun repair and custom gun building with one of the top gunsmiths in the state.

A fun couple with a colorful background and tons of experience is just what you need when you’re looking for private lessons, group classes or custom training for church groups as an example. It’s worth the drive to Spartanburg County to visit their site on Lake Bowen and enjoy the local scenery.

Happy New Year to all my readers and may God Bless you and yours in 2020 !
