Simpsonville City Council re-appoints city officers and fills Board and Commission slots

he Simpsonville City Council voted to reappoint city officers and to assign boards and commission appointments at their December 10 meeting. This will be the last meeting of the year for the Council as it was agreed to cancel the regularly scheduled committee of the whole meeting is normally held the on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Council will convene on January 14 2020. At that time, newly re-elected city Council members Matthew Gooch, Stephanie Kelley and Ken Cummings will be sworn in as well as the installation of Simpsonville’s new Mayor Paul Shewmaker. A reception for the new Mayor and Council members will be held from 5 to 6 PM prior to the January 14 meeting.

The following appointments have been approved.

Planning Commission – Dave Knapp – 4 year term
Planning Commission – Rachel Glanton – 3 year term
Board of Zoning Appeals – Steve Moore and Rick Hammett – 3 year term
Board of Zoning Appeals – Mary George – 1 year term

City Officers

Re-Appointment – 2 year term – City Clerk – Phyllis Long
Clerk of Court/ Administrative Judge – Marie Boone
Treasurer – Christine Furino
Chief Judge – Rick Moore
City Attorney – David Holmes
