The City of Fountain Inn held its 2019 ARBOR Day program at Cannon Memorial Park on N. Main Street.
A short program about the history of Arbor Day was presented by Sheila Miller, a member of the Fountain Inn Garden Club. Shawn Bell, City Administrator, read a proclamation from Mayor JP McLeer.
Bloomers Nursery in Fountain Inn donated the white Magnolia tree which was planted.
Members of the FIGC assisted representatives from the city and Cannons Park in planting the tree.
By planting this tree and others throughout the town, we promote the TREE CITY goals.
This is the 18th year that Fountain Inn has received the designation as a TREE CITY designation, one of 41 cities in South Carolina and 3500 in the United States.
