Fountain Inn City Election Council

I’m Mike Maier, and I’m running for re-election in Fountain Inn on November 5, for City Council, Ward 2. Hands down, I am the most qualified candidate.

Outside of monthly Council meetings, I try to attend every FI community, FI Zoning, Greenville County, & Laurens County meetings that may have an impact on FI.

I served on the FI City Council 2011 to 2015, and in 2016 I served voluntarily on the Citizen Police Review Board (I completed FI Citizens Police Academy in 2013). In 2017 I served voluntarily on the Zoning Appeals Board.

In 2017, I was elected to serve a two-year remaining term for a Councilman who resigned. This term ends this Nov. I’m actively working to solicit funds from Greenville County Redevelopment to better improve our lower income neighborhoods.

I’ve been working with Greenlink, County Council Chairman, and private organizations in soliciting funding to bring pubic bus transportation to FI. Fell short this year, but the future looks promising. Actively support bringing new business into FI. I continue to responsibly advocate for Residential, Commercial, and Industrial growth that will fit with FI’s Master Plan.

I served 24 years in the Air Force as a Flight Engineer crew member and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant. I spent 19 yrs. in Phoenix as a Director of Operations for two different companies (Smart Health & Cutter Aviation).
I have an MBA Graduate Degree, BS Industrial Tech/Engineering, AAS Flight Engineering, & Graduate of SC Municipal Elected Officials Institute. Please support me on November 5th.
