In a special called meeting the city of Fountain Inn City Council passed a resolution to accept the resignation of Rose Ann Woods, council member, from Ward 3. By accepting the resignation Mayor and City Council find it necessary to declare the seat for Ward 3 vacant as of August 7, 2019.
As a result of this resignation a special election to fill the vacancy for the balance of her term has been scheduled. Her term was scheduled to expire on December 2021.
Filing for the office of Council Member, Ward 3, will open at noon on Friday, August 23, 2019 and close at noon on Monday, September 2, 2019.
A special election shall be held to fill the vacancy to complete Ms. Woods’ term of office. The election will occur on November 5, 2019 as part of the scheduled municipal election.
