Prepare to be amazed and inspired when you attend the 20th Annual Aunt Het Quilt show, sponsored by The Nimble Thimbles Quilt Guild, at The Fountain Inn Activities Center. The show will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Sunday, October 7, 2018 from noon to 4:00 PM. The theme is “A Thread Runs Through It” and the featured quilter is Kate Weston. Her quilts will be on display for all to see. We anticipate 100+ quilt entries in this year’s show.
Admission is $5 per person with children 12 and under free with paid adult admission. Seniors are invited to view the quilts on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 9:00 AM to noon with no admission fee. Thank you Fountain Inn Activities Center for your community outreach and all that you offer the seniors that come to the center.
The quilt show is “viewer’s choice” which means ribbons are awarded based on the number of votes received by each quilt in each category. Voting takes place on Saturday and ribbons will be displayed on Sunday.
There will be a display of quilts for Habitat for Humanity and Quilts of Valor. Ken Hinkle, Upstate Coordinator for South Carolina, stated, “The Quilts of Valor Foundation of the Upstate plan to award quilts to two veterans at 10:00 AM and two veterans at 2:00 PM on Saturday. Come at the scheduled times to support our veterans and see the masterpieces our quilters produce.”
The quilt show includes a boutique with handcrafted items for sale, demonstrations, a fat quarter basket, a scavenger hunt, vendors, and an opportunity quilt where tickets may be purchased for an opportunity to win the quilt.
