Plant of the month Edgeworthia Chrysantha

Edgeworthia chrysantha is a wonderful, very fragrant 8’ X 8’ shrub that blooms in January!  It is a prized plant among gardeners. Daphne is in the same family, but Edgeworthia is a much less finicky plant to grow.  The tropical summer leaves drop in December to reveal silvery flower buds that open from mid January to early April. Early butterflies and emerging  bees use it as a nectar source in Spring. See it blooming in local nurseries now!.♦
