Street Survival Tactics

Rick “Pirate Hunter” Grover

Welcome to a new year of opportunities Street Survivors. 2018 can be a great opportunity for all of us to begin a new focus on personal and family protective skills. Although 2017 is behind us and many of us have suffered great loses this year, we’ve also learned many lessons, and have a whole year of training and skill development behind us.

To begin the new year let’s reflect on my definition of a pirate:  Anyone that wants to highjack your dreams and ransom your future.  If you anaylze your own life, you may be able to identify some of your own pirates.  This new year should be an opportunity to accomplish great things, and not let our own personal pirates interfere with our successes.

During my time in Special Forces I learned that a trained and motivated 12 man team could accomplish unbelievable missions. The first step in planning a successful mission was to break it down into small parts and identify the strengths and weaknesses of the enemy, as well as our own team. Attacking their weaknesses with our strengths was always a great precursor to success. In your own life, those principles can still apply.  If you have a goal, break it down and see it in smaller parts, like little achievements that build on each other, or into smaller time segments. Also, it’s important to look at your own strengths and weaknesses to see how you can accomplish your goal. If it’s a physical, mental or knowledge based strength or weakness you can work to improve it, or find a way to work around it. For example, if you have a bad shoulder, work around that weakness to learn the eye jab and other techniques with your strong arm and continue to focus on your strengths.

The goal remains the same, do what you have to, to survive. You are always the first responder for your own personal protection and for your families. Don’t waste the opportunity to learn and improve.

One final thought in closing, that we’ve never discussed in this column over the last 8 years. There is a real threat that is seldom reported but continues to grow across the nation, sex trafficking.  This modern day abduction and slavery of mostly women and young girls has grown exponentially in the United States and across the world, where no less than 20 to 30 million slaves have been projected.  More of this will be reported in my next column, but remember to travel in a group if you need to shop, go out on the town, or just pick up a few things for dinner, after dark.

Safe travels, and safe homes in 2018 Street Survivors. God Bless you and yours !

Rick ‘Pirate Hunter’ Grover strongly believes we’re all in this together, and the more we learn and train, the better we’ll be prepared for any eventuality. This makes all of us part of an amazing neighborhood team of American Patriots. God Bless America !  Drop us a comment or question at email: StreeTactics@gmail.com  ♦
