Mauldin unveils new installment along Public Art Trail

MAULDIN, SC – The City of Mauldin will unveil its third installation along its Public Art Trail on Friday, December 15th at 5PM. This year, artist Yelitza Díaz Muzzarelli’s sculpture entitled “We Are All One” embraces the theme “Appreciation of Diversity,” exalting the spirit of struggle, equality, and reciprocity of the citizens of Mauldin regardless of their differences.

Yelitza Díaz Muzzarelli specializes in sculpture, winning awards in national and international Fine Arts competitions since her youth. She has worked in art history and arts education, as well as cultural promotion in her home country of Venezuela. After immigrating to the United States, she has continued her artistic work in South Carolina with her own gallery, Muzzarelli-Díaz-Art. Her works are represented in galleries and collections throughout Venezuela, Europe, and the United States.

Passionate about the human figure, Díaz Muzzarelli makes her sculptures with mixed media techniques, minimalist-contemporary styles, and a clear inclination for human existentialism. Her work aims to reflect the hopes and deepest thoughts of the human being.

The Trail was established in December of 2014 as a way to beautify Keira Kitchings, Office of Cultural Affairs the Mauldin community with artworks created by South Carolina artists. This year’s sculpture will join two others outside of the Mauldin Cultural Center, 2015’s “The Depot” and 2016’s “Palmetto with Flowers.”♦
