To the Citizens of Simpsonville

I have served this city as a City Council Representative for Ward VI to the best of my ability for eight years.  I chose to not run for re-election.

In the eight years I have been on council, there were only 18 months that I was in the majority.  All the rest, I have been in the minority.  During all those times, I did speak out on issues I considered to be important to you as citizens.  I made a lot of new friends and probably some enemies.  The friends, I wouldn’t change.  The enemies, maybe we should have tried a little harder to get to know each other.

I retired from the Postal Service in 2016 and, at the end of this term, I will be fully retired.  I do not know what the future holds, but I will give it my best.

There’s a quote from Erma Bombeck that I love.  “When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would have not a single bit of talent left and could say, “I used everything You gave me.”

May God bless you and your families and may God bless Simpsonville. I wish the city well.♦
