36th Annual American Heart Association Beach Ride

In the 36th year of the American Heart Association Beach Ride, there were over 1200 riders on the beach and approximately $300,000 was raised. This money helps to fight heart disease.

This was third year that Pam Riddle, owner of Solid Rock Stables and Sharron Dillard, lead instructor of Let’s Saddle Up, have participated in the Beach Ride. It’s always a blessing to be part of such an awesome fund raiser. We enjoy the ride, the company, and we are proud to support such a worthy cause. Our team name is Solid Rock Lifesavers. We had a lady on our team that is a heart attack survivor. We were happy she could join us. We will start in January 2018 raising money for our next ride. We are excited to say our group gets a little bigger each year! It’s a fun time with friends, family, and Horses. Even if you don’t have a horse you can join us at Lakewood camp ground and enjoy the beauty of all the horses. All sizes, shapes, and colors of horses participate in the beach ride and the people you meet are so nice. It’s just wonderful!

So many of us have a person that we love who has been affected by heart disease. The lit board with red hearts is in memory or honor of someone with heart disease…it says, “Honor the Ones You Love, Give Hope to All”. People young and old are on the beach riding to help raise money for heart disease research! In the 36 years of the American Heart Association Beach Ride, $4.5 Million have been raised! Let’s Keep on Riding!
