Street Survival Tactics

Rick “Pirate Hunter” Grover

Greetings Street Survivors…as you can see the world is spinning faster and faster and is barely recognizable from just 10 years ago.  Terrorist attacks on our soil were few and far between, until we got complacent and put the wrong batch of politicians in office that couldn’t call terrorism what it was, and refused to maintain security for our country !

Now we have church attacks like the one near Nashville, Tennessee this week, where Melanie Smith age 39 died on the scene, and 7 other worshippers were wounded.  The terrorist won’t be named in this article but the ‘Street Survivor/Hero’ will… 22 year old Robert Engle struggled with the attacker who was shot by his own gun.  Robert then ran to his car to retrieve his own weapon, and hold the terrorist from the Sudan at bay until police arrived.

Several things come to mind after I get over the anger of these senseless attacks on the innocent. First, our churches and our schools, are considered soft targets and viewed as having little or no protection. I call for our pastors, principles, school superintendent’s and business owners to start arming and training their staffs and allowing trained personnel in their congregations to carry a weapon that can be used in horrible situations like this.  A good man with a gun stopped a bad man with a gun, but even the good man had to run to his car to get his gun !  If the attacker hadn’t been seriously wounded in the struggle with his own gun, this may have gone way worse !  Please train your staff, and business owners, STOP putting up signs trying to keep concealed weapons holders out of your establishments !

Survivors, I don’t write these articles to see my name in the paper. This is a labor of love to try and share some of what I’ve learned and others around me to help you and your family survive bad situations in your lives !  It’s not enough to read it, you have to apply it. Start with small steps and you’ll be amazed at how quickly you can gain skills that will help you in the worse possible scenarios. There are plenty of local gun ranges and instructors that can help you select a gun that fits you and the necessary safety measures you need to learn.  Take a concealed weapons class and begin carrying your weapon everywhere. Start looking at your home like a burglar would to identify weak areas or places to hide and ambush you when you get home. Stop leaving your garage door up all the time and get some seriously good locks for your doors and consider the various alarm systems on the market today in case they break thru a window.  High-tech window film can also protect the glass making it very difficult to break thru. The time to start this is now when you have the time and desire. It’s too late to learn it when the break in or attack is happening.

Survivors, let’s begin a movement of trained civilians that pass that training on to their children just like we pass our knowledge in other areas, our family history of those that have passed, and our Faith in God !

Rick ‘Pirate Hunter’ Grover strongly believes we’re all in this together, and the more we learn and train, the better we’ll be prepared for any eventuality. This makes all of us part of an amazing neighborhood team of American Patriots. God Bless America !  ♦
