On Aug 10, 2020, the Greater Mauldin Chamber of Commerce will hold its 29th Annual Golf Tournament at Holly Tree Country Club. Holly Tree has hosted this event for the past fifteen years. The shot gun start can accommodate up to 32 teams. Each team is represented by a company; however single players also can participate by being assigned to a team. This is the Mauldin Chamber’s major fund-raiser of the year.
The Chamber appreciates the overwhelming generosity and camaraderie of their members. An elaborate event such as this golf tournament would not be possible without caring volunteers and numerous donations. A number of long time members have tirelessly given their time and contributed financially in prizes to help make this event a success.
The Chamber has many companies or individual member sponsors on the 18-hole course. The companies decorate their sites and provide snacks and company information while greeting each team. This networking opportunity plays an important role in the success of the tournament. A raffle will be included in the events of the tournament day. The raffle prizes include a Yeti cooler and many other items. One Chamber Member company provides lunch for all the golfers, volunteers, and sponsors while another member company cooks a pig with all the trimmings. A wine-tasting area, hole-in-one sponsor, and a putting contest help insure all golfers a stress free day. Reusable bags containing fun donated items are given to each participant. Door prizes include golf putters, golf balls, bag coolers, college memorabilia, tool bags, and many other items. Altogether, 50 or so volunteers work very hard to make the golf tournament a success. The Chamber Golf Committee is always amazed at how kind people are to give of their time, money, and donations. Everything for this event is accomplished through donations to keep costs minimal.
The Chamber mission to serve the Greater Mauldin Area as an advocate for the successful growth and development of each business is complimented by the opportunity of its members and guest to interact in the Annual Golf Tournament.
