Tricyrtis, Toad Lily, may sound like an ugly plant. Actually, it has a beautiful, orchid like flower. The name Toad Lily may come from its love of growing in a moist, shady area of the garden and from the spots on its flowers reminding a sorry old soul to think of a toad! Most of these Tricyrtis bloom in the middle of September. They are hardy perennials,1 to 3 feet tall and have no pest problems.
The blooms are petite, so they should be planted in the front of the boarder so you can enjoy the exotic blooms.
