Simpsonville to join cities nationwide for “America’s Night Out Against Crime”

(Simpsonville, SC) – On Tuesday, August 3rd, residents throughout Simpsonville are invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the 38th Annual National Night Out (NNO) crime, drug and gang prevention event. National Night Out, sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and co-sponsored locally by the Simpsonville Police and Fire Departments, and will involve over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military based around the world. This is Simpsonville’s 7th year holding this event.
In all, over 37.8 million people are expected to participate in America’s Night Out Against Crime. National Night Out is designed to: (1) heighten crime prevention awareness; (2) generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime efforts; (3) strengthen community spirit and police & community partnerships. To celebrate National Night Out, residents in neighborhoods throughout Simpsonville and across the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and come spend the evening outside with neighbors, friends and their local first responders.

Simpsonville’s National Night Out 2021 event will be held at Heritage Park at 861 SE Main Street starting at 6:00 pm. Free food and drinks will be served during the event. This will be a fun-filled family friendly night with several events for children of all ages. One of the main attractions will be Prisma Health with their helicopter Life Net 10 and health care booths. Last year more than 3000 Simpsonville area residents came out and enjoyed the National Night Out and another large turnout is expected this year as we bounce back from COVID-19.
