On September 17, the actual day of his birthday, Mr. George Lunn was surprised with a visit from Simpsonville United Methodist Church Senior Pastor Mike Smith and South Carolina State Representative Garry Smith.
To help celebrate the event representative Smith presented a resolution from the South Carolina house of representatives to honor Mr. Lunn’s 103rd birthday. “All 124 members of the House were included in the resolution, said Rep. Smith. What an honor!
Pastor Smith added, “It was even more special for us to be able to be with him today and present him with this honor, because today is his actual birthday. It was an incredibly thoughtful thing for Garry to do and Mr. George was truly happy to receive the honor. In fact, he even serenaded us with a verse of “In the Garden” before we left!”■
