If you want to help create a healthier South Carolina, you won’t want to miss a special presentation on reducing solid waste and recycling at the January 16th meeting of the Simpsonville Garden Club.
Why is waste a problem and what are some things we can all do to make less waste are two questions Jane Hiller, Director of Education at Sonoco Recycling in Columbia, SC, will answer in her presentation. A graduate of DePaul University, Ms. Hiller directs the Sonoco Recycling Education Center, helping area municipalities, businesses, agencies, schools and congregations establish and sustain successful recycling programs
Ms. Hiller also coordinates the South Carolina Green Step Schools Initiative http://www.greenstepschools.com/ and serves on the board of the Environmental Education Association of South Carolina.
