Letters to the Editor

Thank you to all the residents of Council District 26 for re-electing me to represent you on County Council for the next four years.

Chairman Kervin has been reelected as has Vice Chairman Meadows. This will be a very busy year for the Council. The Budget for F/Y – 20 and F/Y – 21 will be prepared between now and May; with approval of the budgets in June and July respectively.

Also the updating of the County Comprehensive Plan has already begun. This is the document that will guide the County in how the citizens would like to see the County grow in the next few years. This is a process that will involve a series of Community Meetings throughout the County. There will be a Community Meeting at Woodmont High School on February 12 from 5 – 8 PM. A Community Meeting will be held at Ralph Chandler Middle School on February 26 from 5 – 8 PM. If you are unable to attend one of the evening meetings the information will be presented at County Square on February 21 from 11 AM until 7 PM. The same information will be presented at each meeting. I strongly recommend that you make plans to attend one of these meetings. Citizen input is essential for the development of a good Comprehensive Plan.

In the next several weeks the EMS Division of the County will be undergoing a series of changes designed to improve the overall operation. EMS, GCSO, and Fire Service Districts are the backbone of Greenville County – Public Safety is our #1 Priority.

I look forward to continuing to be of service to you. If I can be of assistance to you, please contact me.
